Our Story

Pictured above - founders Janae & Solomon - husband and wife team. Janae is the formulator and product maker - Solomon is the business mastermind. Together they have 3 beautiful gifts from God, aged 5 and under. During the day, Janae stays home with their children, homeschools, homemakes, and packs orders if needed. Solomon works out of the home - but their dream is to grow Barebase enough to be able to bring him home. Yes, they would be busy making skincare and soap - but they would be doing it together, as a family, and the reward of helping others around the world is so fulfilling. Family time is super important to them. With every purchase you make, you are helping their dream be a little closer to becoming reality, and they are so grateful for you.

We create intentionally minimal skincare for sensitive, reactive skin. What began as a search for relief from persistent acne grew into a commitment to simpler, more trustworthy skincare — made without unnecessary additives or common irritants.

The name “Barebase” reflects our philosophy. “Bare” represents honesty and simplicity — formulas stripped down to only what’s essential. “Base” speaks to a strong foundation built on stewardship, intention, and care for our bodies.

Our approach is biblically inspired. Scripture repeatedly points us back to simplicity, stewardship, and the wisdom of using what is purposeful and good. We believe caring for our skin is part of stewarding the body well, and that excess — in ingredients or routines — often creates more harm than help.

Barebase began when conventional products, and even natural ones, failed to support our sensitive, acne-prone skin. Instead of adding more actives or harsher ingredients, we chose to refine. Through careful formulation and testing, we created skincare that truly supports the skin barrier, while avoiding common triggers, including coconut, palm, and olive oil.

Our ingredient choices are intentional. We use essential oils such as frankincense — valued for centuries and referenced in Scripture — not for trend, but for its calming and skin supportive properties. Every ingredient serves a purpose. Nothing is added without reason.

Today, Barebase offers soap and skincare products designed to be gentle, dependable, and uncomplicated - and most of all effective. Each product is handcrafted in small batches with essential-ingredient-only formulas.

We believe skincare should feel steady, not overwhelming. Thoughtful, not excessive. At Barebase, we return to the basics — honoring God with our body, respecting our skin, and choosing simplicity over noise.
